Oerthan Winter Coronet 2011
Official Event Dates: Saturday and Sunday, January 15-16
Activities begin Thursday, January 13
The Shire of Earngyld
invites all to witness the making of history as warriors take the
field to prove their mettle, and the Coronets of the Great Land
pass to a new Prince and Princess!

In addition to the Coronet tournament, there will also be the
traditional Roses tournaments, all held indoors for the comfort of
fighters and consorts alike.  Roundtable discussions for the
fighters and for the consorts are planned for Friday evening.

Arts and Sciences classes are still in the works, and more will be
announced.  Anyone who wishes to sponsor a competition is
encouraged to contact the Minister of Arts and Sciences,
Aneria
verch Thomas.

Her Royal Highness Catherine (who will then be Queen) invites
one and all to bring their handiworks to display before the
populace at Coronet.  The items may be works-in-progress or
finished items of any type.  Documentation is not required, and
this is a display rather than a competition, that all may see the
wondrous works of Oertha.  All entrants will receive a token of
appreciation from the Queen.

There will be a tabletop siege engine competition (nota bene: mini
marshmallows are the only legal ammunition/projectiles).   There
will also be a brewing competition for those who are 21 years of
age or older. The three categories will be: 1) wines and meads; 2)
cordials and liqueurs; 3) beers and ales.

Dancing and bardic activities are planned for Saturday night after
the feast.  Static arts and sciences displays as well as not-so-static
classes and sponsored activities are also welcome and
encouraged!  Please coordinate with the
autocrat.

The site is located downtown in easy walking distance of a variety
of shops, restaurants, and other locations of interest.  The site
boasts plenteous space for fighting, feasting and frolicking;
hardwood floors; easy access and ample parking.

Light refreshments will be available throughout the day both days,
and are included in the site fee.  A separate feast is planned for
Saturday night for an additional fee, listed below, with
reservations due by January 1 for the feastcrat’s sanity.  Due to
known difficulties in transporting feast gear in luggage, some
loaner and disposable feast gear will be available.  Please see the
site information for further details.

Assistance with locating crash space and housing is available by
contacting the
autocrat, as is a discount code for Alaska Airlines.
